Fall crafts are so cozy, especially when they involve pumpkins! When we made these Pumpkin Paper Plate crafts, the kids were excited to paint their plates bright orange and pick the “perfect” green leaf shape. Once they were done, we hung them around the kitchen, and it instantly felt more festive and full of fall spirit!

I love that this craft is so easy to set up, but still keeps little hands busy and imaginations flowing. With simple supplies like paint, paper, and ribbon, kids can create their very own paper plate pumpkins to display around the house or even their classroom! It’s the kind of project that doesn’t need to be perfect to be wonderful. Each pumpkin simply has its own charm!

This craft is a great way to celebrate the season while encouraging creativity and fine motor skills. The bonus? It’s budget-friendly and easy enough for a cozy afternoon craft session at home!

Helpful Tips

Use paper plates with a slight ridge, as they hold the paint better and dry more evenly! It helps the color to last well while also being faster in finishing up. Alternatively, if you’re using thinner plates, place a piece of newspaper or cardboard underneath to prevent warping as they dry!
