What are some of your favorite side dishes and appetizers you like to make or eat at Christmas time? I know for me I love green bean casserole, as my husband doesn’t like green beans, so it is a good excuse to eat extra when someone brings it!

Growing up we always had tons and tons of food at the holidays! My dad always brought his famous baked beans and I wish I would have gotten that recipe! They were the best ever! He would cook them for 24 hours, chop up ham and toss in, and the flavor was heavenly! I loved how they were nice and thick, that is one thing I wish I could eat again!

Apple Corer & Slicer -Stainless Steel BladesApple Corer & Slicer -Stainless Steel Blades

Since the recipe calls for sliced apples, I love to use my handy apple slicer that both cores and slices apples all at the same time. It took me one or two tries to learn how to use it, but now I would never go back to cutting up my apples with a knife! The apple slicer makes it so much easier and creates slices that are all the same size.

If you make these I hope you enjoy them! They are so quick to whip up, and they look so fancy! The lemon water will help keep the apples from turning brown, if you didn’t know. If you don’t want to do that, you can also try Sprite or 7Up, it does the same thing. Enjoy!
