My sister-in-law, Amie put all new windows in her home and asked if I wanted a few of her old windows. I said “sure”, and decided to craft with them! I decided I wanted to make a nice turquoise color window with an antique look to it! I then added a quote to it to make it perfect to hang on the wall! I made one for our bedroom and another one for the living room. Here is the one I did for the bedroom!
The window was a brown color, and I thought why not paint it up, so I started out spray painting it black, and once it was dry, I then added the turquoise color on top of it! I did it this way because I took a sanding block to scratch it up, and I wanted black to show through. So here is how I turned this old window into wall decor, for cheap!
Turn an Old Window Into Wall Decor
Supplies:
Black Spray Paint Turquoise-Satin Lagoon Spray Paint(or any color you want) Sanding block word decal to put on window (Amazon has decals for around $2!) As you can see this is the sanding block I used, it was like $1 at the Dollar Store. But if you don’t have that, you can use sanding paper too. After I got the black and turquoise on and it dried, I lightly scratched at it. On the edges I rubbed a bit harder, as I wanted it to go down to the wood to give it more personality!
Then I put the quote on it. You can buy pre-made quotes that you peel and stick or you can make your own with a Silhouette or Cricut machine or whatever else you have available! If you want to use a Cricut, you can always find the current best deals in this Cricut Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals 2019 post.
This was really easy to make, and you can use any color you want! I also thought to make a window and put a picture behind it, and use the window as the frame! The possibilities of how to use a window for crafting is endless! Grab a window from a yard sale, or rummage through your garage and start crafting!! Love to hear what you would do with an old window!
This is a really inexpensive craft, that doesn’t take much to do! What would you do with an old window?

My mother brought back dozens of beautiful picture from her visit to Germany. Problem is, they just remain on a disc. This is the perfect idea to get some of them visible. She will be very surprised.
