Our dog Toby is such an important part of our family! He makes us smile every day, is a great companion and a good guard dog. He has a fierce bark that makes strangers think he just might be vicious, something I don’t mind when he’s looking after our house. But, in reality he is a big old sweetie ready to give love to family and friends at any minute.
Now that he has gotten older (13 is very old for a German Shepherd!) he isn’t up for long walks or chasing a ball in the backyard. But, we still find ways to have fun. He loves to lay next to me in the yard while I work on my computer.
Inside the house I fill his “Squirrel Tree” toy with stuffed squirrels and he works hard to extract them all from the tree. I love to watch him figure out the best ways to get them out of the tree and into his mouth so he can squeak the squeakers!
He’s also super silly and always tries to lick me whenever we take photos together. I know they’re just dog kisses so I like them even if they’re slobbery!
The mutual love I have with Toby is like that of so many other dogs and their human companions and it’s celebrated in “The Pack”, a new global unscripted series coming to Amazon Prime.
The series is hosted by Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn along with her canine co-host Lucy. The show features twelve teams of dogs and their humans on an epic adventure across multiple continents. The Amazon Original series premieres November 20th, on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
At stake in the competition is an amazing $750,000 for the winning duo — $500,000 to the winners plus an additional $250,000 prize
amount for the animal charity of their choice. But that’s not the only charity benefitting as The Pack Amazon donated $250,000 during filming to multiple charities and animal rescue organizations in each country they visited.
In their quest to win The Pack, teams must depend on their understanding of one another’s strengths and weaknesses and prove their bond is the pack’s strongest. In each location they visit, the human and dog duos take on fun and exciting challenges, designed with the contributions of a team of accredited veterinarians and certified dog experts that also accompany the group on their exciting journey to make sure it is a positive experience for the humans and the dogs alike. We’re excited for The Pack Prime premiere!
As The Pack premieres on Amazon Prime, Amazon is also celebrating Packed Weekend, a 3-day event featuring deals and experiences for you and your own dog companion to enjoy together. The included items are intended to encourage quality time with your dog by encouraging playtime, fun and adventure right in your own home.
