I teamed up with Square Hue to review one of their hue boxes. Now all opinions below are my own.
I have been really been obsessed with subscription boxes lately!!! I came across Square Hue, and I got sent a box to review! It came with 3 nail polishes! You can sign up at Square Hue and they will send you 3 nail polishes each month directly to your front door. Each month will contain different colors for you to try out! Plus they give back, so, automatically, a portion of your monthly subscription is donated to a charity.
I received three beautiful colors on nail polish! Champs- Elsees, Notre Dame, and Arc de Triomphe! All of these colors are very light and nice and shimmery! I was really excited to try them out as I love nail polish. I found that applying one coat you could barely notice it was on my nails. So after applying a few more coats you could finally start to see the nail polish. I was however disappointed because it always looked blotchy and never gave a really nice clean coat on my nails. I tried all three nail colors thinking it could have been just the color itself.
I took this picture from my phone so the coloring is a bit off. But as you can see on the nails it looks very un-even. Now I want you to know I tried this multiple times on trying to get the color to show even and look nice. It wasn’t just a one time paint job. I truly wanted these polishes to work good and overall I was really let down. Maybe another type of polish that isn’t so shimmery might work better from their line. I would try them again to see if the next line of colors would work better. If not, I would then decide this subscription box might not be for me.
Now their are others who have tried out Square Hue and really like them and rave about them. This is just my take on it, and just because it isn’t for me, doesn’t fully mean it won’t be something you will love!
Shop:
You can sign up at Square Hue for their subscription box. It is $14.99 a month with a shipping of $5 making it $19.99. Each month you will receive 3 Square Hue nail polishes, and you can cancel your subscription at any time.

These are so pretty! Perfect for spring. This is something that I would love to subscribe to and have fun looking forward to each month.
Ellen Christian says
I really like the pastel shades. I always choose pastels in the spring time.
Tammi @ My Organized Chaos says
That is a neat idea, I’m sure polishaholics would be all over this!
brett says
oh, this is a FUN subscription box. I should send one to my niece at college she and her roomies would get a kick out of it! what a great gift idea
Candace says
You don’t know until you try something, right? I like the idea of these boxes, it’s affordable and you might find your next favourite there.
Jennifer @TheRebelChick says
I have a hard time with certain nail polishes too. Essie, which is a super popular brand, sucks when I try to use it at home, it’s always running and gloppy. Yet at the salon, they use it and it looks great. Go figure!
Nicole B says
I love monthly subscription boxes too. But I always feel like every month is a bit of a gamble – I may not always like what’s inside. So far I have been pretty lucky this year.
Mama to 5 BLessings says
Love the idea of getting nail polish as a subscription – no going to the store and fumbling around on which nail polishes to chose!
carly says
Subscription boxes are super fun and I love the ideas of nail polish. A girl can never have too much nail polish, right? I appreciate your honesty and agree that some polishes work better for some and not for others.
Kelsey says
Yes I totally agree Carly, some polishes work better for different people for sure! I am addicted to subscription boxes :-)!
Tammy says
I know that I am so inept at nail painting that this probably wouldn’t work for me either. Thanks for giving an honest review.
CrazyMom a/k/a Melanie says
How fun… monthly subscription boxes are super cool.. these nail polish would be a hit with my daughter…
samantha says
That stinks that the polish was not really that great quality. I have a hard time keeping nail polish on my nails–it always chips, but I always paint my toes. 🙂
Mindy Grant says
I love the colors! They are perfect for spring/Easter!
Donna says
I like the idea of pastel nails for the spring. And thank you for your hones review, and you’re right, just because they weren’t for you doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be for someone else.
Amanda says
I like you am always game for trying something twice! I really appreciate your honesty!
Sharon says
Seems there is a subscription service for almost anything. They are a great idea for keeping your supply fresh with the things you love!
kristin says
Those are great colors for spring! I love nail polish!
Liz Mays says
The thing is that you’d think they’d put their best foot forward on the first box especially. That’s a little disappointing. The colors are pretty, but it’s irrelevant if the finish isn’t smooth. Bummer. Hopefully the next time will be better!
Janel says
That’s weird that it showed up so thin! I’m a horrible nail painter, anyways.
Stacie @ The Divine Miss Mommy says
This is a pretty cool idea. I am a nail polish junkie. I swear it would take my entire lifetime to use all of the nail polish we have.
Nancy @ Whispered Inspirations says
These look so cute. I love the shape of the polish and of course the shades. 😀
Heather @ It's a Lovely Life! says
What an awesome idea! I love trying new polishes and I love the spring colors you got!
Greta says
I’ve tried a few of the SquareHue polishes, and they seem to be hit or miss. Some are great, and some are not. I suppose it’s thatway with most things, though.
Catherine L. says
I’m not a pastel person when it comes to nails, but these are pretty spring colors.
Tammilee says
I am not a pastel person. I can’t get it to look right on my nails. I always look like a mess. I love the subscription box idea.
Katy Rawson says
I love the colors, but it’s a bummer they didn’t go on well. I wonder if it was just this one though. My niece would love this subscription box. Maybe we’ll give it a try and see how it works out for her.
Amanda says
It’s a bummer that these didn’t work out for you. That’s what I love about subscription boxes that you can try so many products and see what will work for you what wont
Kelsey says
I agree Amanda, I love subscription boxes too! It makes it nice to check out a product and see what you think!
Debi says
I love subscriptions services like this. I like that it is like a little surprise.
Wendy | Around My Family Table says
I have been wanting to try a subscription box, and I like that they give to charity. Plus, the names of the polish are really cute.
