Indiana Glass Trail – Walk Madison’s Stained Glass Trail

I just learned about the Indiana Glass Trail and wanted to share with all of you in case any of you live near it! The Madison’s Stained Glass Walking tour includes 11 different stops of historic churches within walking distance of each other!

You might live close and is just a short car ride, or maybe you want to make a little road trip out of it! You can stand and view the beauty of their stained glass windows and compare them! You also get a chance to view the Ohio River town which was founded in 1809! You can do this anytime of year, they have guides available if you are interested.

The stained glass windows date from the construction of the church in 1910. Madison is filled with lots of amazing historic sites, good eats, and views of the Ohio River that are amazing! It is a great place to visit if you enjoy learning history and enjoy the beauty of the world!

Stunning Stained Glass Windows to View

Indiana’s Art glass community was launched with that first gas well discovered northwest of Kokomo in 1886! In 1888, Charles Edward Henry, a glass chemist, went to the local officials about establishing a glass plant there. Within 24 hours they had an agreement to allow a glass plant! It is really neat learning about this, you can find so much information on how this all evolved!

The Indiana Glass Trail links all of Indiana’s glassmakers, as well as the state’s glass-focused galleries, museums, exhibits, festivals, and workshops/classes.

I hear the winter months are really an amazing time to go, as it is beautiful that time of year. That is why I wanted to share it now, with Winter approaching! If you live near it or want a road trip, make sure to check them out!
