How to Keep Your Cheese Fresh Longer!

Keep Your Cheese Fresh Longer

We are a cheese lover family! I grew up eating cheese a lot, and it has continued as I am grown. Cheese is one of my favorite foods ever! All flavors and kinds, I am all about cheese. We like to have block cheese around to snack on and such, and I have a great tip on how to keep your cheese fresh longer. Plus it keeps it from molding as quick (I wouldn’t know we eat it to quick for that) as well as soaking up scents that float around in the fridge.

I have noticed when we cut a block of cheese, put it in a ziploc bag and toss in the cheese drawer. After a few days it starts to change flavors as it soaks up odors floating around in the fridge. For some reason that just makes my stomach curdle just thinking about it! So I saw this tip in a magazine  on how to keep your cheese fresh longer. So, I thought I would try it out!  All you do is wrap your blocked cheese in aluminum foil once you open it! It really does work good of protecting the cheese and not making it go bad, as well as not grabbing all the odors in the fridge! So far I have to say this is working like a charm for me!

Have you tried this tip in your home on your cheese yet? If so I would love to hear your thoughts, or how you keep your cheese fresh longer and keep it from soaking up scents floating around in the fridge! I am always up to try new things!

Oh, thank you!! Our cheese is always growing mold far too fast for my liking. And I’m tired of going through so many ziplock bags. Aluminum foil is so much cheaper than the bags I use. So I’m definitely going to try this one out!

Yes, we love this tip! My husband loves to have pepper jack and grapes as a late night snack, so there is always cheese in the fridge. The foil really does help is last longer.

Thank you for sharing this. We love cheese and buy the huge blocks, so I need a way to keep it fresh. I will be trying this idea for sure!
