12 Strong In Theaters January 19th + Reader Giveaway

Just the other day I saw a commercial for 12 Strong and was instantly intrigued. I’m not usually into war movies, but this one sounds incredible. Plus, it’s a true story! It’s set in the harrowing days following 9/11 when a U.S. Special Forces team was chosen to be the first U.S. troops sent into Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission. 12 Strong will be released this Friday, January 19th!

12 STRONG is one of the great unknown stories of American valor. Twelve brave U.S. soldiers dropped everything and ventured into an unknown land, outnumbered 5,000 to 1 to complete one of the most successful special forces missions of all time. However, they had to use the rudimentary tactics of the Afghan horse soldiers rather than state-of-the-art warfare to battle the heavily-armed Taliban. This is the amazing story of these 12 heroes and the families who wondered if they would come home alive.

I find it absolutely fascinating that these soldiers had to use horses instead of the technologically advanced vehicles we’re used to seeing the military use these days! This movie is rated R for war violence and language throughout.
