Horse or Carriage Tour of Antietam National Battlefield: If you enjoy history and beautiful scenery this destination is a must. You can choose to ride a horse or ride in a carriage. The ride is around an hour and a half. You can learn about the history of Antietam and see the landmarks as you travel along. It is a great combination of history and outdoor beauty.

The C&O Canal:  Located in Williamsport, the C&O Canal is famous for its role in the Civil War. It can be a romantic place for couples to ride a boat and view the canal and its landmark bridges. During winter months the canal is closed for water activities, but you can still hike it.

Appalachian Trail: Speaking of hiking, part of the 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail run through this area. It is one of our country’s great hiking destinations with countless beautiful views of nature. Kayak the Indian Springs Wildlife Management Area: If you love being out in nature this is another must. You can paddle around on the clear springs and enjoy over 400 species of birds, 90 species of mammals and more. Both canoes and kayaks are available for rental. With the bountiful natural beauty and fauna, it makes for gorgeous photos and a memorable experience.
