Back To School Time DIY Craft – Redesigned Composition Notebook

Redesigned Composition Notebook Craft

I can’t believe that it’s almost Back to School time! Seems like summer just started. I try to ease myself back into thinking “school” as I’m a teacher, and I also know my kids want to be home just having fun too!! So, I got a couple of the plain black composition notebooks (scored by a friend at Target last year after back to school on clearance, for $0.10, that’s right, 10 cents each!!)

How cute is this Redesigned Composition Notebook?

Materials list:

Composition Notebook
Large envelope
2 pieces of school themed patterned paper 9 3/4 inches by 6 inches (measure the height of your book)
Scraps of school themed patterned paper
Letter stickers (if you want to personalize)

That’s it!!

It was so incredibly easy!! I took the plain composition notebook, and attached the 1 inch piece of paper up against the spine, then attached the book paper to the edge (it overlapped the letter paper a little bit)

Deconstructed Composition Notebook

I did the same thing for the back of the book:

And, just to add a little “something” I adhered a large envelope to the inside of the back cover, it would be a great place to keep little papers that you don’t want to lose, or a pen/pencil!

I took some letter stickers and a scrap piece from the papers and made the name tag for the front, and that was all there is to it!! I hope you’ll make some fun little notebooks for the back to schoolers in your life!

DIY Craft: Personalize Post It Notes For a Fast and Easy Gift

Do you need a quick, easy, and adorable little gift for someone? Going to a friend’s house, a quick little thank you for a neighbor, or another get together where you don’t want to go empty handed?  Personalize Post It Notes is easy, but looks like you worked hard! What better summer project??
Turtle Card
Here’s the materials you’ll need (if you do any paper crafts, you’ll have everything you need, this project is a great way to use up scrap papers from another project!
Craft Items
Paper Trimmer or Scissors and a ruler
Sharp Scissors
A fun stamp set and ink
White card stock 3 1/2×7′
Score board (or you can measure and fold)
Scrap papers (3×3 1/4″ and 1/2×3″
A small piece of twine or ribbon
Take your piece of white card stock and score along the long side at 3 1/4″ and just over 3 1/2″ (my score board has an arrow, that’s where I scored the second line).

Next, take your fun stamp set (I used these cute turtles) and stamp the image twice, once on white card stock, and a second on a patterned paper. Then for the turtle, I cut out around the edge of the white card stock turtle, and cut just the shell of the patterned paper turtle, then layer the patterned paper on the white turtle’s back.
Turtle Stencil
Next, I took a smaller turtle stamp, and stamped him on the actual post it notes, about every 10 pages or so… After I stamped the outline, I went back and stamped his “back” with a blue ink.
Make your own cards
Next, assemble the cover… Fold the white card stock on the fold lines, then add the patterned paper scraps, the larger turtle we assembled earlier, and a little piece of twine tied into a bow.
Personalized Post-It Notes
