Clay is 10 Months Old – What has he been up to?!

Our baby is almost 1 year old! Clay 10 months

My oh my what an amazing past 10 months this has been! Yes you could say their have been MANY sleepless nights, a few tears, lots of laughs, many kisses and hugs and tons of snuggling! I can’t believe our little prince is 10 months old! Where has the time really gone?! I do stay at home with him, so I get all the love and fun with him each day, which is nice! Some days he might be having a bad day, and I want to pull a few of my hairs out, but at the end of the day I wouldn’t want it any other way!

What Has He Been Up To:

Clay 10 months old Clay is crawling like crazy still, he is so fast! He is standing up on things and walking! Not quite able to walk alone, but I know it is in the near future!

Favorite foods are: Cheese, Mac n Cheese, Mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, graham crackers, and any kind of crackers. It is so funny cause when I was pregnant I craved mashed potatoes like crazy and ate cheese all the time!

VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker LeapFrog My Pal Scout

His favorite toy: is his Scout Dog by Leap Frog or the VTech Sit to Stand Learning Walker! He is using the walker to get around and play with all the fun buttons! He just loves it, and I am so happy!

Favorite Things to Do: He is a boy who loves to be outside! Whether it is taking a stroller ride, playing on his swing, or just walking around looking! He loves nature, it is one way to calm him down if he ever gets upset. Just step outside and it is like he is at peace!

Shy: Clay is a little shy to people, including family members! He is always open with Adam and I but everyone else it always takes a little time to warm up. He has a really good poker face to family members, it is pretty cute! After maybe 10 minutes or so he warms up and is ready to play!

Weight and Height: Last time he was at the doctor he weighed 21 lbs, he was at 75th percentile in height, and 90th in head. He is doing really well and meeting all the milestones like he should!

Thank you all for stopping by and reading and seeing what he has been up to!

Clay is Officially 9 Months Old! Where Has the Time Gone?!

My Baby is Almost A Year Old!

CLay 9 Months

Man oh man, our little Clay is growing up so quick! I can’t believe today he is 9 months old! The time sometimes feels to go slow and others at warp speed! He has brought us so much joy it isn’t even funny! He loves to laugh and do silly things to make us laugh, I think we will have a fun little guy on our hands!

So, as for his health, he is doing amazing. He was diagnosed with salt wasting congenital adrenal hyperplasia at one week old and we almost lost him. It is a genetic disorder that he was born with, and came as a shock to us. He has to be on medicine for the rest of his life and we have to be very careful if he gets sick. But, with God on our side Clay has been doing amazing. He is thriving, and that is so good to see! His sodium and potassium levels have been in the right range at the last few appointments. We are just keeping a close eye on him and making sure all is well. He doesn’t have to get blood work or see specialist for five months which is amazing!

Family Time

What Has He Been Up To These Days

  • Clay is loving meat, yogurt and cheese. Those are probably the three things he loves the most to eat!
  • He is saying mommy, daddy, hi, bye, oh, and a few more words.
  • He will wave hi and bye at times when he feels like it!
  • Loves to play peek-a-boo.
  • Clay will get behind a chair and try to peek around to see daddy sitting in it, to scare him! It is so cute!
  • Still working on walking, he stands up on things really well while holding on.

So that is all for now, make sure to stay tuned for the next update!

Clay is Officially 7 Months Old! Whats New with Him

Clay is officially 7 months old as of the 20th! My oh my where has the last 7 months gone?!?! I can’t believe he is growing so fast, you always hear parents say how quick they grow, that is no joke!!! I thought it would be fun to share what is new with him!

  • He is loving trying out new baby foods right now! He loves the sweet potato, green beans, apple/blueberry mix!
  • He is officially crawling, which is craziness to me!!
  • He loves to talk or I should say try, sometimes you can hear words but they say they aren’t official words yet.
  • Clay loves to smile, but he is so shy around people, it takes a little bit of time to warm up, but once he does he is good to go!
  • He absolutely loves being outside, whether it is swinging or going for a walk! If it is outside he loves it!
  • One of his favorite toys is his Baby Einstein Jumper and his dog Scout From Leap Frog!

At his 6 month appointment he weighed 18 pounds 6 ounces, so he is a little over 19 pounds now. He is growing really well and in all the ranges of growth and weight! We are so very thankful for this little guy and we can’t wait to see what the next month brings on the new milestones he will reach!

Clay Is 6 Months Old! Here is his 6 month baby update

Easter Picture 2016Clay has turned 6 months on the 20th of last month, so here is his 6 month baby update! Time has flown by, you blink and it feels like I just had him! He has brought such joy to our house, I am very thankful each day for him! When he smiles it just melts your heart, and his sweet kisses and hugs are the absolute best!

So I thought I would share what he has been up to these days!

Clay 6 Months He is now eating baby food, right now green beans, apples and sweet potatoes are his favorite. We still have a lot of them to try out but so far those are his top ones! He loves to giggle and he is such a cheeser! He smiles literally all the time, he is a very happy baby, granted if he gets upset he will let you know!

He sits up so well, I was shocked he has been doing it since around 5 1/2 months. One day he sat up wobbled a bit and then bam he is sitting up all the time! He is trying to crawl, but he hasn’t got it down quite yet! But, it is still early so hopefully soon he will be scooting along!

This was an Easter photo we took, he is truly such a handsome little guy! I loved his little suspenders and bowtie! I got them off of Etsy! He really looked so handsome! It is crazy he was born with black hair and as he has gotten older, he is like a dirty blonde now. His eyes are a mix of blue and brown right now, not sure if they will stay hazel or go brown!

Sleeping is getting better, I really think his steriods for CAH are not helping in sleeping. He doesn’t sleep through the night, but he only eats like once to twice a night now. Granted he doesn’t sleep straight through, he wakes up sometimes and needs soothed still!

So that is what has been going on in our neck of the woods! He is thriving and doing amazing! We are so blessed and thank you for coming by to see what he has been up to!

Clay Daniel Apley- Born 10/20! Come Meet Our Little Guy!

Clay Apley

Wow it has been awhile since I have blogged! I wanted to get on real quick while Clay is napping to announce he was born on October 20th, at 6:42 pm! It was a bit of a bumpy road getting him here, but he arrived safely! He is such a sweet handsome little guy, and we are so blessed to have him as our son!

I ended up getting induced and everything was going really well, then as the day progressed, Clay starting showing distress and I stopped dilating. I made it to an 8, and I wasn’t progressing. The doctor came in and said we will give it a bit longer but if you don’t progress it is looking like we will have to do a c-section. So, we waited some more and there was no real change. Clay was still showing distress and I was still not progressing. The doctor finally made the call it was time to do a c-section.

I was petrified as having a c-section was a huge fear of mine. But, I had no choice and I wanted Clay to get here safely and I knew I had no other option but to breath deep and go for it. Luckily Adam was able to come in and be by my side. It took quite a bit of medicine to get me numbed up, but it finally worked and we were ready. The procedure went pretty quick, and before we knew it Clay was here! I got nervous cause I didn’t hear him cry at first, I was so scared something was a matter, but then he let out the loudest cry ever. It was such a special moment that I will remember forever! I was able to take a quick look at him, and they got him looked over and then came and laid him on my neck so he could touch a little bit of my skin!

Clay Daniel Apley

Here he is 3 weeks old, holding his head up great! We have had some bumps along the way, he was diagnosed with Salt Wasting CAH, and was in the NICU for almost 1 week. They found this in his newborn screening blood test. It is a life threatening condition and luckily they got him in to the hospital very quick and he is doing better now. He is on meds and will be for the rest of his life. I will do a post about this and what happened here later. I just wanted to let you all get to see him, and finally get to meet the little guy!

Thank you all for following my pregnancy journey, all the love and prayers you have sent our way! We truly appreciate all of them! I will be getting back to work soon, and can’t wait to share pictures of him, and let you guys see him grow up!
