Fun with Teletubbies Bubbles – Make Bubble Art!

This is part of a sponsored campaign for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. I received compensation for my participation, but my reviews and opinions are my own. Paint With Bubbles

In honor of the new release of the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD on June 20th, I thought it would be fun to get outside and create art using bubbles with my son, Clay! In the new DVD Teletubbies Bubbles, the Teletubbies chase and pop bubbles, and I wanted to create a fun craft with my little guy around bubbles! He loves watching Teletubbies when they come on television, so it is nice to have three new DVDs so he can watch, while learning and having fun! And this year, the Teletubbies are celebrating “20 Years of Big Hugs” all throughout 2017.

Teletubbies Bubbles

I was sent the Bubbles, Twinkle Twinkle and Big Hugs DVDs along with a plush Teletubbie. When I opened the package, Clay’s face just lit up! He is really into stuffed and plush toys, so now he loves to take it to sleep with him during his nap. Of course right away we had to put on one of the DVDs so Clay could watch it. The brand new Teletubbies Bubbles DVD will be released on June 20th. Clay is already fascinated with Bubbles, so he loved seeing them in this show all about them! The most fun part of the DVD is a bubble party filled with all sorts of bubbles, even one so big children could stand inside the bubble! It is full of giggle-inducing and smile-creating moments.

But I really love Teletubbies because it is also learning show for him. It is great for physical development, communication, social and emotional development and more. Teletubbies teach your child tasks and information in each episode. They use words like “again again” to let your child understand how to use the word, as they repeat what they were doing!

If you have not watched the Teletubbies, their world is so colorful, and it is really engaging for little kids. They can’t help but watch, because it draws them in. As your child grows they can engage in the questions the Teletubbies ask, and they can join in dancing and other activities. It is a show that I love Clay to watch, as I know he is growing and learning! You can find out more about the developmental benefits of Teletubbies HERE.

If you want to create bubble art with one of your little children, you should give it a try. It is easy and your child will love it! Clay is still pretty young, so he is learning, and he did a wonderful job creating a pretty piece of art work we can hang on the fridge!

First off you want to either make your own bubble solution or buy a bottle of bubbles. I had bubbles on hand, so I went ahead and just used store bought. But, if you prefer to make your own, it is easy to do, and works just the same!

Next add in some food coloring into separate bowls or containers. I did small portions, and did 1 drop of each color. I let Clay pick out 3 colors. In each container, add a little bit of the bubble solution, and mix with the food coloring. You can add more drops of coloring to reach the desired color you want.

After you have your bubble solution colored, grab some white paper, canvas or whatever you want your child to paint on! Then head outside because it can get a little messy! We went ahead and used white paper, so he could do as many pictures as he wanted.

Bubble Art

Then let them take a bubble wand, and dip into the solution, and then blow bubbles onto the paper. Clay struggled at first learning how to blow bubbles, but with some practice he learned how! It will add a fun color to the paper, creating a custom piece of art work!

Once he got the bubbles on the paper he popped them himself, or they popped right away! He loved being able to see the colors go onto the paper! This does work really well, and you can use any color of food coloring you want, and as many colors!

Then just let it air dry, and then you can hang it up in your child’s room, hang on the fridge, or make cards for family members! Each bubble art you do will have a new and unique design! It is a blast doing, and I know we will be doing more of these this summer!

You can find out more about the Teletubbies on their website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Have fun painting with bubbles with this outdoor craft art project!

Kindergarten Math Activity: Make an Equation Board

Is your child grappling with math facts? Mastering the concept of numbers is such a troublesome task in itself that it can be very difficult to introduce math equations without perplexing him. Don’t fret! It can be done painlessly with this simple, hands-on equation board. Using just cardboard, string, and beads, with this kindergarten math activity your child will be able to physically create equations and visually count the beads until she becomes proficient at addition and subtraction. This is sure to help  your child have more fun while learning math!

Equation Board Math Activity

What You Need:

  • Piece of Cardboard (approximately 12” x 16”)
  • Elastic string
  • Scissors
  • 20 or more beads

What You Do:

  1. Write “+” and “=” signs horizontally across the top of the long side of the cardboard with spaces in front of and after both signs.
  2. Write “-” and “=” signs horizontally across the bottom of the long side of the cardboard with spaces in front of and after both signs.
  3. Cut two slits on both of the short sides of the piece of cardboard.
  4. Cut two long pieces of elastic string. One will be the addition string, while the other will be the subtraction string.
  5. String the beads on each piece of the elastic, then tie them around the long sides of the board, nestling the strings in the slits so that they’re secured.
  6. Encourage your child to move the beads along each of the elastic strings to illustrate number sentences as he says them out loud. For example, the equation “2 + 3 = 5” would be depicted on the equation board as two beads in front of the plus sign, three beads after the plus sign, and five beads after the equal sign.

Always remember: with math facts, repetition and memorization are crucial. Try combining this teaching aid with number lines and other math games to make struggles with addition and subtraction facts a thing of the past!

With this Kindergarten Math Activity, your child can make an equation board to be introduced to addition and subtraction equations without being perplexed!

Super Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning Recipe

I don’t know about you, but I like to save money by making my own homemade food like this Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning.  In this fast paced world we live in, it’s so easy to just live off of processed food. I am guilty of this from time to time myself. A few years ago, I decided to try to make some of my own seasonings. I was so surprised by how easy it is and how much more flavorful our food tastes!

Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning

My family absolutely loves any food that is Mexican or Tex-Mex. We could live off of tacos and be completely content. Okay, I would still need chocolate to survive, but we could almost survive off of tacos alone! The best part of most of the Mexican dishes I make is that they are inexpensive and I can use my own Homemade Taco Seasoning to save even more money. Most of the ingredients you probably already have in your cabinet, so this is an inexpensive recipe as well!

This seasoning is great because it doesn’t have all the sodium and you know exactly each of the ingredients that goes in it. You can add it to tacos, burritos, enchiladas or any other Mexican dish you can think of. It is also delicious if you add it to some ranch dressing for a little kick!  I would also recommend my sister’s Easy Beef Enchilada Recipe!  Just add 2 heaping tablespoons and 1 cup of water to the browned hamburger and simmer for 5 minutes.

I also love to decorate my kitchen with homemade spices and seasonings. The look of mason jars filled with different seasonings adds a special “homey” feeling and an inviting atmosphere. If you plan to use Mason Jars, you can add easy flip-top lids for quick access.

Another handy option is these glass spice bottles that have a shaker top built in. They are perfect for storing spices and they’re inexpensive too!
