Chic 'N Savvy

I Am Obsessed With These Monster Cookies!

Monster Cookies

I had no idea about Monster Cookies until a few months back, I was over seeing my nieces and sister, and she had made some and asked if I wanted one. I was a little hesitant on if I would like them or not! I have been seriously missing out, these cookies are so good! They are a nice twist to a cookie, and I love the M&M’s and chocolate chips mixed in the cookies!

I had told myself if I passed my glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes, I would make some to celebrate! Haha, living on the wild side, I know! I passed with flying colors, so I kept my word and whipped these up! I gave some to my sister, as a thank you for introducing them to me, and then I put the rest in the freezer, so when I feel like a cookie I can pull one or two out and enjoy it!

If you have never had a monster cookie, they are really good. They have oatmeal, peanut butter, M&M’s, and chocolate chips in them. It is a fun variety of flavors mixed together, which makes them so good, in my opinion.

Monster Cookies

Ingredients:

2 Cups All Purpose Flour

1 1/2 cups Quick Oats

1 tsp baking soda

1/8 tsp salt

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar

1/2 Cup Peanut Butter (Feel free to use creamy or crunchy, whichever you prefer)

1 Egg

1 Egg Yolk

3/4 Cup Softened Butter (I prefer butter over margarine)

1 tsp vanilla

1 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips

1 Cup M&M’s + Some extra for topping them

How to Make:

1. First preheat oven to 350 degrees. Next take a small bowl, combined the flour, oats, and baking soda and salt together and set aside.

2. Then in my KitchenAid Stand Mixer (you can use a hand mixer or spatula) I added the softened butter and peanut butter together. I mixed them till they were pretty smooth.

3. Next I added in the brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Once that was well incorporated, I added in the whole egg and the egg yolk and vanilla.

4. Next I slowly added the flour and oat mixture, until well combined.

5. Then with a spatula I folded in the chocolate chips and M&M’s.

6. Then I put the dough into balls and placed on greased cookie sheet. I then took some extra M&M’s I had and placed a few on top of each cookie, just to add some dimension to the cookies. That is optional, you don’t have to do this part.

7. Bake cookies for around 8-10 minutes or until they are light brown. If you prefer a softer cookie bake less, or a crunchier cookie bake a little longer. Just go with how you normally prefer your cookies.

Note: Depending on where you live and the altitude your baking time could vary. Or you can adjust the temperature, this is what works for me where I live.

Monster Cookies

These are pretty easy to make and really amazing. Best of all they freeze great, so if you are like me, eat them whenever you get a craving, just set a few out and let thaw for a little bit then enjoy!

What is your favorite kind of cookie?!

My husband would gobble these up in one sitting. So nope I can’t make them, or at least I would have to keep them offsite in a bank vault lol.
