Painting Activity for Toddlers – Personalized Letter Wall Art

Here is a Fun Painting Activity for Toddlers – No Mess!

Painting Activity for Toddlers

I am a stay-at-home mom, and with that comes a lot of time to fill in our days! I wanted to do a fun painting activity for toddlers that didn’t require a huge cleanup! I had seen awhile back canvas personalized letter wall art, and I thought why not! This is a no mess way to have fun with your child and let his imagination run wild!

What makes this a no mess activity, if you wrap the canvas in plastic wrap before you let your toddler start creating the masterpiece, and that keeps their hands clean from the paint! Brilliant right!?! You can create any letter you would like, use your Silhouette Machine to cut out a letter on canvas and apply to the canvas, or use painters tape like I did here!

Here is how Clay’s turned out. We did brown, white, turquoise, and orange for his colors. We taped off the letter C for him, and I think he did a really cute job! He missed a little bit of spots right around the tape so I used my finger and rubbed the paint there to help so you can see the letter really good. Other than that, he did it all by himself! I wrote his name in the bottom corner and year, so he can see when he did it, years down the road!

I made mine on a 16×20 canvas, but you can choose any size of canvas you would like, or do it on a sturdy paper, it is all up to you! No set rules here!

I do recommend when your child does do this, that you either have them paint in clothes it is okay to possibly get dirty or have them not wear clothes. Ours didn’t spill out any paint, but I still had him in just a diaper, JUST In Case! I didn’t want to take a chance, that it may go south and his clothes get paint all over them!

  • 1 Canvas I used 16x20 size
  • Paint colors you want (choose at least 3 colors)
  • Tape to shape your letter
  • Plastic wrap

  1. First off you want to take your canvas and start creating your letter out of painters tape or use a cutting machine like a Silhouette. Place your letter or design anywhere on the canvas. I did the center for ours.
  2. Once your letter or design is taped on, start putting dots of paint all over the canvas. It kind of soaks in so make sure to put quite a few dots.
  3. Then take plastic wrap and secure it all over the canvas. It doesn't stick perfectly but if you use a lot of it, you can protect your hands!
  4. Let your child start playing and spreading the paint around. Once the paint is smooched all over, take the plastic wrap off and remove the tape before it dries. Be careful with this step. If paint isn't all around border of tape make sure it is covered or else the design will now show well.
  5. Let dry and then display the art.

Easy DIY Canvas Painting

As you can see it really is a very easy toddler craft! You can do this craft at any age, and do any design, words, or letters you want! Very versatile for sure, and simple. The most time consuming is just taping off your letters and design! I think next time I might do a quote or something for him!

Clay loved doing this, and I think it turned out rather well, we have it hanging in his bedroom!

3 Things to Know Before Buying a New Car

vehicle Buying a new car is a big investment. It’s something that you should never rush into and you should always do your research ( before going shopping. Start by learning as much as you can about the vehicles you have an interest in and then do a comparison. Check out the features, prices and reviews to gather as much information as you need to make an informed decision on which car to buy.

Once your research is complete and you’ve chose your vehicle, the next step would be to find ways to save on your purchase.

Here are three things to know before buying a new car to help you save money on your purchase:

  1. Know your credit score. The better your credit score, the lower your interest rate. If you have a low credit score you may want to postpone buying a new car until you have time to improve it.
  2. Know the car’s invoice price. The invoice price is the amount that dealers pay the manufactures for the cars they purchase. The sticker price is the manufacturer’s suggested retail price or MSRP. The sticker price can be thousands of dollars more than the invoice price in which case you know there is room for negotiations.
  3. You don’t always need the extras. Some extras are nice and well worth the extra expense but some are not necessary. For example, you probably don’t need the paint protection, rust proofing and fabric protection.

Knowing the three things above can help save you hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars on your new car. The money you save may mean the difference between buying the car you like and being able to afford the one you love.

How Your Credit Score Affects Car Buying

vehicles As soon as you start thinking about buying a new or used car, the first thing you should do is check your credit score. Many people don’t realize just how much your credit affects a car loan but it’s one of the main factors lenders use to determine whether or not you qualify for a loan. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, why not look at, they carry new and used vehicles!

Here are some of the ways your credit score affects car buying:

  • Your credit score determines which financial lenders consider you for a loan, if any. You’ll have more options to choose from when you have a good credit history because lenders consider you a low risk.
  • If you have bad credit, most lenders will deny the loan because you’re considered a high risk. They know you have a history of paying late or not fulfilling your financial obligations.
  • If you are approved for a loan with bad credit, your interest rate will be much higher than if you have a good credit score. As a rule, the higher your score, the lower your interest rate.
  • Your score may also determine how much you have to pay for the down payment. Lenders usually ask for a higher down payment when your credit is bad than they do if you have good credit.

Don’t underestimate the importance of your credit history when buying a car or making any major purchase. Lenders use this information to determine how well you manage your finances. By maintain a high score, you have better lending options and you’ll receive lower interest rates. Have you checked your score lately?
