Check Out This Tasty Spicy Lemonade Recipe

Spicy Lemonade Recipe We are finally into full summer mode here in the Midwest which makes it a perfect time to turn this summer classic into a great juicing recipe. I always like to find good seasonal recipes for juices as it helps provide more variety in my diet and buying produce in season is also much cheaper.

Today’s recipe – Spicy Lemonade Recipe, is going to feature lemons and ginger. Both are super healthy foods but the biggest challenge is adding these into your diet in large enough quantities due to their STRONG flavor profiles. Luckily this recipe manages to offset these tastes making a lemonade with just a little bit of a spicy bite.

Benefits of Lemons: Lemon juice is a natural antiseptic which will improve your breath and clear up your skin naturally.
Benefits of Ginger: Ginger supports better digestion by breaking down fats and proteins which will lead to less gas.

Spicy Lemonade Juice

2 lemons (peel removed)
1 thumb of ginger
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
12 oz filtered water
1 teaspoon Grade B Maple Syrup
Serving Size: 16 oz

Spicy Lemonade Recipe Directions:

Place lemons and ginger in juicer. Add water, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper directly to juicer and shake. Pour over ice to serve immediately or store in an airtight glass container overnight.

Recipe Tips:

Do not use your standard maple syrup. If you’ve served it on your pancakes it’s probably grade A. They have completely different tastes. Trust me. I’ve used grade A and dumped out an entire batch. The spiciness of the juice will build if stored over night so season accordingly.

I love enjoying this after a workout or as a late afternoon refreshment. Enjoy!
